I just learned today of Alan’s passing through a mutual friend and was very
saddened. I first met Alan around 1977 when we both worked for Musket and Henriksen-
a retail pharmacy on the north side of Chicago. Later in the early 80’s we again teamed
up as co-workers at LGH pharmcy.
I remember Alan as a dedicated, caring pharmacist who went the extra mile to
care for his patietns. He always greeted everyone with a friendly smile and hello.
My condolences to Barbara and family.

I had the pleasure of working with Alan at LGH both as a pharmacy resident and upon returning in 2015. I remember Alan for always being so kind, friendly and positive. He was hard working and cared greatly for his patients and co-workers. My condolences to the family. He will be missed.

Mary and I were saddened to hear of Alan’s passing. We offer our condolences, thoughts and prayers to the entire family. Whenever we had had the opportunity to see and visit with Alan, we remember that he always had something nice to say. He always had a smile on his face and was always willing to spend a few minutes “catching up”. He struck us as a kind and gentle man and we will miss seeing him at family events.

Alan was my roommate back in 1968 at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. I remember him as being a caring and hard working individual. I also met his lovely wife to be Barbara. My sincere sympathies to the family.

I met Barbara on our first day of kindergarten. That friendship became a solid foundation for my life. The joys of those years – laughing on the way to school, playing board games, and being accepted into each others families. I have a deep and abiding love for the entire family and pray that the love you have for each other will support you and help you heal. I know that your wonderful memories of Alan will live in your hearts forever. He was such a caring and intelligent man who created a loving secure life for his family. He will be missed. May his memory be for a blessing.

Dear Barbara and Family-
I was so very saddened to hear of Alan’s passing. A kinder man I have never known. I had the privilege of working with Alan for many, many years on 8Center and later 8Tower, the oncology and bone marrow transplant unit at LGH.
Alan was a wealth of knowledge and always my “go-to guy” for any and all pharmacy questions. But he was also the “go-to guy” when you had a few minutes to chat and just catch up on an otherwise crazy day. Alan had the ability to make everyone around him feel like they were so important to him. He was wonderful, caring and beyond kind. But also so smart and always a step ahead of you when questioning if something “looked right” or not. His attention to detail was unsurpassed. All the staff that had the privilege of working with Alan felt the loss of his presence when he retired and now we feel it anew as we learn of his passing.
Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you all at this most difficult time.
With Deepest Sympathy,
Karen Sticha
